Overview
They ranged from a diagnosis of the current malaise of the monetary system, to a consideration of a number of proposals for utilizing gold’s unique characteristics to strengthen the financial structure in the future. The issues were addressed by some of the leading academics, central bankers, analysts and gold industry figures of the day, led by Robert Mundell, the 1999 Nobel Laureate for Economics. The result was a sparkling mixture of debate, insight and reflection that challenged preconceptions and held those listening absorbed.
